I’ve used powdered 5-HTP a couple times now, it doesn’t taste great and it’s resulted in an unpleasant stomach upset that lasted 45–60 minutes. For that reason I’ll likely not continue to use it. I did not find it’s effect on mood remarkable enough that I would want to put up with the stomach upset. My go to Nootropics for mood are Rhodiola and Phenibut and my go to Biohacks for mood are meditation and no fap, I don’t feel the need to use a whole lot more mood promoting strategies.
5-HTP is decarboxylated to serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine or 5-HT) by the enzyme aromatic-L-amino-acid decarboxylase with the help of vitamin B6. This reaction occurs both in nervous tissue and in the liver. 5-HTP crosses the blood–brain barrier, while 5-HT does not. Excess 5-HTP, especially when administered with vitamin B6, is thought to be metabolized and excreted.
Thymosin Beta 4 is a potent peptide that comes from a family of 16 related molecules that are localized in circulating cells and tissues within the body. These molecules also have a high conservation of sequence. TB 500 conjoins with actin and prevents actin polymerization. It is noted as being the actin-sequestering molecule within eukaryotic cells. It also boosts extracellular matrix-degrading enzyme production.

However, because of the short half-lives of growth factors and polynucleotides in the body and the necessity to deliver to specific target sites, those medicinal substances do not always exhibit the anticipated therapeutic potency and outcomes . Thus, optimized delivery regimes and well-defined release kinetics appear to be logical prerequisites for safe and efficacious clinical application of biomolecules. For considering the application of Tβ4 in clinical trials, target cells of exogenous Tβ4 should be restricted to cells in the periodontal tissue.

TB-500 and Thymosin Beta-4 are not exactly the same, although you’ll often see the two names used interchangeably in the peptide world (AKA broscience bodybuilding forums). It’s much harder to get your hands on true Thymosin Beta-4, whether for research use, equine enhancement, athletic performance enhancement or bodybuilding. But TB-500’s peptide sequence shares most of the properties of Thymosin Beta-4, and it’s more economical to produce, thus easier to find.
To identify newborn neurons, double immunofluorescent staining for BrdU/NeuN (mature neuronal marker) was performed (Fig.1). TBI alone significantly increased the number of newborn neurons (NeuN/BrdU-colabeled cells) in the DG of injured hemisphere. Tβ4 treatment significantly further increased the number of newborn neurons compared to saline controls. These data suggest that Tβ4 administration initiated 24 hours after TBI promotes neurogenesis in rats.
Second, 5-HTP can cause serious drug interactions with many medications, especially those used to treat depression. Because antidepressants generally work by increasing serotonin in the brain, 5-HTP could combine with these medications to cause high concentrations of serotonin. Having too much serotonin can lead to serotonin syndrome, a serious condition characterized by dangerously high heart rate, blood pressure, and temperature. 5-HTP can interact with other classes of drugs, like migraine and pain medications, that also affect serotonin concentrations.
